Details: I´m selling a 1989 Isuzu Trooper RS that is in good running condition. $1000 OBO, cash please. 238,000 miles. I bought the vehicle a year ago, and have put less than a 1,000 miles on it since. The truth is that I needed the car as an A to B, but since I soon moved across the street from my workplace, I rarely needed to drive at all. Since the vehicle does need some mechanical fixes, I am moving out of KC, and I have limited resources to keep it on the road, I am sadly selling this vehicle. Minuses:The vehicle does have a few needs, that are mostly cosmetic.On the mechanical side: Needs master cylinder replaced in the brakes. I have the part, just haven´t gotten around to replacing it. Brakes work, but won´t stay engaged for long at a stand-still.Radiator leaks. I have been adding fluid once a week, or right before taking it out.Vehicle does have rust on body. Not a rust bucket, but especially around wheels, there are rust issues.Vehicle has a dented front bumper. That was the way I bought it.Upholstery is badly worn on the driver seat bottom, but otherwise ok.Glove box lock/handle needs to be reattached. Driver´s side door has a sticky lock.Very small ding in front windshield (probably from a pebble) in bottom left corner (does not obstruct view, has probably been there for years).Fuel gauge broken.O2 light permanently on.Probably needs a tune up.Pluses:Motor runs well.Transmission shifts well. It can get up to 70 no problem. Sometimes getting the stick into second can be a little fussy, but it runs well on all gears.4 relatively new Firestone 31´s 10.5 15´s. Less than 20,000 easy miles. Relatively new battery. Starts up no problem!In the right hands, the truck can be an awesome 4 wheeler. Would be a fun project, or you can do some small fixes and have a vehicle for getting around town.These 1989 Isuzu RS´s are legendary four wheelers, and an extremely limited number (by some estimates less than a thousand) were sold in the USA. Details: this is an 1995 isuzu trooper SE I bought to drive through the winter. today the Transmission control module died on it and it wont shift past 1st gear. Im military and headed overseas in a few weeks so i dont have time to mess with it. its fully loaded, 178k miles. still drives foward and reverse, just wont shift. 4x4 works perfect. power windows, locks, huge moonroof. leather interior, power seats, tape and cd player. almost new mud/snow tires and new spare tire. seats have tears, dash plastic broken, dent in pass side rear door, pass side rear bumper, front bumper slightly bent, foglights dont work. Just tinted the windows a week ago for the summer....looking to trade for anything that runs and drive with ac. Small cars with good gas milage are great... send offers! Details: I´m the 3rd owner of this truck and it´s always had routine maintenance. The engine is solid. Never had any problems with it. 200k + miles. Any mechanic will tell you this is a very reliable vehicle. It just needs some cosmetic help. It has a dent on the front and back fender, and a passenger door doesn´t open. The a/c does not work, but it´s got great heat. I have the grill, just need some fasteners to put it back on. Other than that it´s in great condition. The engine will run for another 200k miles. All you´ll need is regular maintenance. Gets great mpg, roughly 20 mi/g. The four wheel drive is great in the winter. Very reliable. I hate to see it go, but I´m wanting to get something newer. Another great thing about this truck, is I find parts for it very easily. When it got hit I was able to find everything I needed at junk yards for 1/3 of the price. I´ve had it for almost 5 years now, and will probably get another similar truck.
